Around Bansko

Not far away (an hours drive) is the famous Rila Monastery which is a must to see.

Founded in the 10th century, the Rila Monastery is regarded as one of Bulgaria's most important cultural, historical and architectural monuments.

It is on account of this also a key tourist attraction in Bulgaria and Southeastern Europe as a whole.

Why not have a go at the new Ian Woosnam Golf course just 10 minutes drive. Or for those with children, a Bear Park at Belitsa will keep them entertained.

Blagoevgrad town is 40 minutes by car for those wishing to shop or see more of Bulgaria's architecture.  Find yourself through the park and towards the University and you will experience a different Bulgaria.  Many clothes and shoe shops and great italian restaurants are amongst some trendy stores selling everything you could imagine.

Just down the road from Bansko is a town called Dobrinishte where you can use the public pool.  Extremely cheap and a great day out for the children and adults.

Take the chair lift from Dobrinishte to the top and discover the lake at Bezbog - truly stunning scenery.
